AT EASE:

Bridging the Military-Civilian Divide

At Ease: Bridging the Military Civilian Divide is a community-based, multimedia project exploring the complexity of voices, experiences, and perspectives surrounding military service in our country. For four years, Hidden Voices facilitated workshops, interviews, and photography sessions exploring the questions:

“How did your service change you?”

“What do others not understand about your particular experience?”

“What about civilians—what do you wish they knew?”

The participants include active duty and reservists, male and female, queer and straight, combat and support staff, as well as military spouses. Their responses offer the extended community greater insight into the stresses, camaraderie, humor, pride, isolation, and dedication experienced by those who serve.
